A Passion for Wood: My Story from Vietnam to Angola
My story begins from my childhood. My father is a famous wood trader in the Vietnamese and international wood industry and he works with many international customers. While my friends always love to explore nature and play, I am a little different. Because my house’s near Hai Phong port (one of the largest cargo ports in Vietnam), I often go to the port with my father to see the imported wood containers being prepared for opening. I love the feeling when large trees with diverse species are loaded into containers for international export, it is really attractive. Besides, my father taught me a lot of things, from how to distinguish different types of wood, the applications of wood to how to process wood to create the best products.
In 2010, I had the opportunity to meet Mr. Rossi, a Vietnamese in Angola. After a few conversations, I realized that we shared the same passion for wood and the desire to develop the wood export industry in this faraway country. With constant efforts, I officially became the regional manager of K-Timber. Now, I am very confident in the type of wood I provide to customers, they even have access to better, more stable wood at only 20% of the previous price.
Previously, I was in the domestic timber business with my family. The transition from a domestic timber trader to an international timber trader was of course difficult, because I understand that each country has different import regulations, even different tastes. But anyway, I think the core point here is the values I bring to customers including: quality, time, price, service. ‘Up to now, I still receive regular orders of nearly 20 containers every month regardless of whether it is timber season or not.
Currently, as of 2024, I have traded with more than 180 customers and established close relationships with dozens of customers. I am confident to bring you reputable, sincere advice and good quality wood at the cheapest price.
